One of the three main airports in Ireland (along with Dublin and Shannon), Cork Airport is located four miles (6.5km) south of the city of Cork, in an area called Farmer's Cross. As Ireland's second busiest airport, Cork Airport processes nearly 2.5 million passengers each year.
The terminal is a new, state-of-the-art facility opened in 2006, with a selection of shops and restaurants that would be impressive even in a larger airport.
