De Flandre Hotel The esteemed medieval city of Ghent is home to the Hotel de Flandre, an intimate establishment offering 63 fully-furnished rooms and suites. Situated near a wealth of unconventional bars and some of Belgium's most enthralling museums, this enchanting boutique hotel is made up of two carefully restored buildings, one of which boasts a listed historical Napoleon staircase. Just 50 m from the main building is the Annex with 17 brand new executive rooms featuring a unique design and modern comforts. The annex also offers a meeting room equipped with up-to-date audio-visual facilities. Local Tips The hotel is proud to have hosted celebrated guests such as Johann Strauss I who stayed in Ghent during performances of his music in 1838, and noteworthy French writers Chateaubriand and Lamartine. Your visit will be equally rewarding! Please note a city tax of 3 Euros per person per night is required and to be paid locally. FACILITIES: Food, drink and entertainment Breakfast is served every morning and the friendly Bar 1804 on the ground floor is a nice spot to enjoy a drink and open from 7 am to 2 am. You can also ask the folks at reception for the take away menus of some local restaurants who will deliver. Activities Ask about the CityCard Gent available at reception - a special all-in access card to the notable canal-side buildings, museums and top attractions in Ghent. Please note from 01st Jan 15 check in time is 15:00 and check out is 11:00. The breakfast opening times will be 06:30-10:00 midweek and 07:00-10:30 during the weekend.
